Manston is not a "former Airport site", the use of this land must remain as an airport the most valueable potential asset in Thanet is at risk of destruction by our useless U turning Council. I will lie in front of a bulldozer before seeing this site undergo a change of use.

London Manston Airport should retain the name and remain a busy Airport, as it was. RiverOak could and would develop the Airport to become a valuable asset, for not only the people of Thanet but to show TDC what a Council can do when the public speak. Elected on a promise that has NOT been kept.

As above, it will be important to establish appropriate disposal of foul drainage from the site at an early stage in the planning process. We expect all foul drainage to be directed to mains foul sewer and early discussions with the Water Company will be required to ensure that connection can be made. There will also be restrictions on any proposed infiltration of surface water to ground. Surface water drainage options will need to be agreed at an early stage in the planning process to ensure th

Tesco note the statement at paragraph 4.1 that some of the additional proposed housing sites are adjacent to existing allocations proposed in the Preferred Options draft Local Plan and should form a comprehensive scheme for those sites. As expressed elsewhere in this representation letter and in previous submissions, Tesco contend that land north of Millennium Way constitutes a suitable additional housing site, with the benefit of adjoining existing residential allocations S536 and SS34.

Ref 2: My second objection is to the Revised Location of Housing both on the Airport of Manston above (reasons stated), an on A1 Grade Agricultural Land. Why on earth would you even think of wasting this on houses when this prime land can be utilized, now even more than ever, to grow produce to sustain Britain thus creating the need to import less. Instead relook at all the empty properties and derelict sites around Thanet and develope these to fit the housing shortage. It's a win win situation

At the previous consultation CPRE urged the Council to take account of environmental constraints (including agricultural land and water supply/quality) in its setting of a housing targets and this may moderate the need for loss of high quality agricultural land to housing. CPRE notes that the 4 additional large sites will assist delivery of transport infrastructure and a new 'inner circuit' in particular. In terms of housing allocations, and the preparation of a positively prepared, justified a

We have already provided comment on the revised proposals for the former Manston Airport site. With regards to the proposed new housing allocations at Land at Manston Road/Shottendane Road and Land at Manston Court Road/Haine Road we welcome the inclusion of the standard housing policy requirements to make an appropriate contribution towards the Thanet Coast SAMM scheme and to assess the potential of the site as functional habitat linked to the nearby Thanet Coast and Sandwich Bay SPA.

5.0 LAND WEST OF BIRCHINGTON 5.1 The Site currently comprises greenfield land west of Birchington, located north and south of the A28. The Site encompasses land proposed for allocation as part of the emerging Local Plan under Policy SP14 (Strategic Housing Site at Birchington) and Policy H02C (Land fronting Park Lane, Birchington). 5.2 We note that there are discrepancies between the land ownership boundaries and the land identified as being part of the emerging allocation plan. The new Manston Court / Haine Road site will add to the "Grey Corridor" through the centre of Thanet. The existing roads are totally inadequate, but will not be improved until late in the build process.
