When looking at the recommended "New/Improved Walking and Cycling links" on P57/8/9 I realised that there were three omissions which I would be grateful if you will please consider for inclusion in the Strategy. They are: * A link from Dane Valley Park into St Dunstan's Road and to Northdown Road by providing a shared facility on the wide pathway, often used as a car park, on the western side of Addiscombe Road; * Provision of a cycle/walking facility from West Dumpton Park Lane to the Coast P

Transport Strategy We have only carried out a light touch review of the Draft Thanet Transport Strategy and have considered this alongside the Transport Strategy section in the Local Plan. We note that Policy SP47 safeguards a number of areas for the provision of key road schemes and junction improvements, to support the implementation of the Thanet Transport Strategy. While most of the planned transport infrastructure seems to be within large site allocations for housing, there are some strat

SUPPORT The Town Council support the introduction of a Transport Strategy that will replace the former Thanet Transport Plan 2005. This is the best way to ensure that the planned growth in the Local Plan is well managed. A Transport Strategy will identify a package of robust transport improvements and interventions to enable the highway network to effectively accommodate the anticipated increase in travel demand across the plan period. 3 Spatial Characteristics 3.4 Broadstairs Page 7 COMMENT

Section 1.2.5 refers to national, county and local strategies, plans and policies that will influence or be influenced by this Transport Strategy. Accordingly this section should include reference to DfT Circular 02/2013 The Strategic Road Network and the Delivery of Sustainable Development (Sept 2013) and Planning for the future – A guide to working with Highways England on planning matters (Sept 2015). Section 6 Traffic Challenges identifies M2/A2/A299 Brenley Corner as having potential futur

Section 9.3.2 - The proposed link road would have to pass over the highest grade (1) Agricultural Land through PROWS (Public Rights of Way) and well established and registered bridleways for hundreds of years. There is also an ancient monument next to Brooksend Hill towards Minnis Road. Furthermore this link would not ease congestion towards Minnis Bay as any junction / access via the link road would need to be on the Minnis Bay Side of the Railway Bridge to have any significant positive impact

On behalf of our client 'Pavilion Property Trustees as Trustee of the Broadstairs Unit Trust' we objection to the Draft Transport Strategy (and supporting evidence base). Our client owns a site (comprising the Tesco store (and PFS) and Broadstairs Retail Park) which is directly affected by the proposed Westwood Relief. We summaries below the parts of the Draft Transport Strategy affecting our client's site and the nature of our clients objection: Section 9.4 describes KCC's initiatives to reli

To whom it may concern Section 5.7 With an investment and improvement in high-speed rail links to the airport via a Thanet Parkway station, then Manston airport would be significantly more attractive as a viable alternative to LGW and LHR for either freight or passenger flights. The idea of a rail link to Manston airport is not a new idea and has been established for over twenty years ever since I moved to Thanet. I consider this a missed opportunity, which should have been implemented many yea

The BHS supports the intention of increasing the bridleway network in Thanet. Any upgrades to bridleways should ensure that the surface is suitable for equestrian purposes. Thanet has a very large equestrian community for its size and the amount of available land. The hub of the community is at Manston. Two large riding schools are situated on Alland Grange Road and Woodchurch Road. On Woodchurch Road there are two other large to medium sized livery yards. In addition to these equestrian premis

The Transport Strategy is not sound as it is unjustified; ineffective; not consistent with national policy and not positively prepared.
