I am very concerned at the proposal of 24 units being erected on the old CIU site. As a wheelchair user Reading Street is already frightening to use & the possibility of much more traffic is a nightmare! I strongly object to this application

The proposed strategic development sites in Birchington - S499 S515 S498 ST3 would be suited instead at Manston Airport as a strategic site with an increased housing allotment and Mixed Develpment instead of building on Grade 1 Agricultural land that we need after Brexit. There are also several brown fields sites that have been identified across the Isle of Thanet but which have not been put in the Local Plan.

I accept that the Club Union site is up for development but the nature of the development is all important to be in keeping with the conservation area. For Reading Street to maintain its unique characteristic it needs sympathetic planning and not to be swamped with greedy developers. Houses should be far enough away from those existing at a lower level in Reading Street, so as not to dominate the area. Sufficient car parking space must be provided within the development area so as not to spil

Housing Allocations China Gateway International Limited has concerns over the timescales and feasibility of some of the sites currently being promoted in the Local Plan to meet the Council's OAN over the Plan period and compensating for the 2,500-dwelling allocation being removed from the Proposed Revisions to the Local Plan. China Gateway International Limited has concerns over Strategic Housing Site Policies SP14 Birchington, SP15 Westgate-on-Sea, SP18 Land at Manston Court Road/Haine and Ho

We have been instructed by our client, Quinn Estates, to write following previous submissions in relation to the Local Plan. In those submissions our client advocated the allocation of land adjacent to Yoakley House in Margate for specialist older people's accommodation and residential development. We note that in the Regulation 19 version local plan the site is not proposed to be allocated, however. We enclose the previous submissions which describe in detail the benefits of the proposal which

Lists of sites allocated in the emerging Local Plan. Ref No. SHLAA071 Former Club Union Convalescent Home, North of Reading Street Page 42 The Town Council unanimously objects to the capacity of 24 units. We suggest a maximum of 17 Units would be acceptable to the local community subject to satisfactory design.

Appendix B sets out the housing trajectory for the sites that are allocated in the Plan. For the Westwood Strategic Site this states that development will produce 50 houses in 2019/20 and then continue until 2029/30. We consider that this is too early to start and that all the figures should be pushed back by two years so that development starts in 2021/22 and finishes in 2031/32.

The housing numbers allocated to Birchington are too many too soon. The infrastructure is inadequate now !

CLUB UNION SITE The site is unsuitable for 24 housing units, due to the poor access from Convent Road and the totally inadequate access to and from Reading Street due to its siting and width of Reading Street. The impact of a development of this size on the village and the conservation area would have a major detrimental effect, particularly due to the poor highways structure in the village and its ambience The present volume of traffic already causes environmental problems in the village res
